Owyhee River is meandering river with its source in Nevada and contributing to the Snake River at the border of Oregon and Idaho.
The name first appeared on a map from 1825. Owyhee was the spelling describing the Hawaiian language. In 1984, US Congress designated part of the Owyhee River the Owyhee Wild & Scenic River.
